Questions

Frequently asked questions

Where do the crafts come from?

Every piece is made by a registered self-help group, NGO or farmer producer organisation in one of 19 countries across Asia and Africa. Each product page names the specific collective and country.

How much of what I pay reaches the artisans?

83% of the sale price reaches the producer group directly. We publish this figure annually alongside our accounts.

Is Acomada a charity?

Acomada is a registered non-profit federation. We are not a donation-funded charity — the federation is funded through sales, and surplus is reinvested in verification, logistics and new collective onboarding.

How is the price set?

Each producer group sets its own price floor before a piece is listed. Acomada does not negotiate prices down.

Do you ship to my country?

We currently ship across Western Europe. Enter your country at checkout to confirm delivery and estimated timing.

How long does delivery take?

Most pieces are made to order or held in small batches; typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from order to doorstep.

What if a piece arrives damaged?

Contact us within 14 days with a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund. This does not affect the artisan's payment.

How are collectives verified?

We confirm legal registration as an SHG, NGO or FPO, review sample work against our craft standards, and check that members set their own price floor before any piece is listed.

Can my organisation apply to join?

Yes — see Partner With Us for the four-step process and application form.
